Tawny Frogmouths

We have loved this tawny frogmoth family which has come and gone over the 8 years we have lived at the Forest. Once we found an injured frogmouth on the driveway. He opened his moth so wide it was like a trapdoor. We could feel his hard ribcage and gizzard. It was not clear what was wrong with him so we scooped him up into a box with some leaves and took him to the University Vet for investigations. He didnt come back to us. We have had some losses and some wins, like the time we took a large ill ringtail possum to them and they discovered a viable baby in her pouch, who was fostered back to health...
